Live!

Live! is AMD's home entertainment platform for entertainment PCs. Powered by AMD dual-core processors, the media servers run Windows XP Media Center Edition( MCE) or Windows Vista Home Premium.

Media centers integrate various media, such as television, digital TV, digital radio and content offerings, and can be operated via full-screen user interfaces with a remote control. They are constantly connected to the Internet and can download their content from it.

Media servers based on Live! are equipped with network cards for the home network, have their own TV tuners for analog TV and digital TV, audio cards with Sony/Philips Digital Interface( SPDIF) for Dolby Surround 5.1 and a RAM of at least 1 GB. As a media center, Live! devices can manage and play back movies, TV, music, games and photos. Since a Live! station forms the media center within the home network, several subscribers can access different media services simultaneously. To protect the content offered by providers, Viiv offers sophisticated copy protection( CP) and supports digital rights management( DRM).
