on demand computing (ODC)

On-demand computing (ODC) is an on-demand service in which computing power is provided on an as-needed basis. Namely, when it is needed.

The ODC concept provides the user with the corresponding resources in the form of computing power, storage capacity and application programs on a temporary basis. For example, for project work, when unexpectedly high computing power is required or for routine work.

The ODC concept, which is comparable to utility computing, has the advantage for users that costs are only incurred for the services provided and they do not have to make any investments in hardware, software and personnel. It is a flexible, demand-oriented model that is scalable and billed on a pay-per-use basis. On-demand computing has evolved into software as a service( SaaS) and cloud computing.
