native client interface architecture (NCIA)
The NativeClient Interface Architecture (NCIA) pursues the synthesis of local and IBM-specific networking. NCIA is a functionality that is used as software on the personal computer( PC) or the PC card, where it takes over the encapsulation of the SNA traffic in TCP/ IP. This procedure relieves the routers from conversion work, they only take care of the destination assignment. NCIA combines the full SNA functionality of host and clients with TCP/IP backbones.
