CTI standards

The continuous development of computer telephony integration( CTI) over the years has given rise to various vendor-developed platforms that have been standardized by various standardization bodies.

There is therefore no CTI standard par excellence, but rather a multitude of standards that are somewhat interdependent. In addition, computer telephony integration also influences future standards, e.g., in the area of Internet/intranet, in the Unified Messaging Service( UMS) or in multimedia technology.

Influences on the most important CTI standards

Computer telephony integration is based on well-known standards such as ISDN on the one hand, and on the other hand there are standards for the hardware structure, such as the Signal Computing System Architecture( SCSA), the Multi Vendor Integration Protocol ( MVIP) and the USB interface, and for interfaces such as Telephony Application Programming Interface ( TAPI), Telephony Service Application Programming Interface ( TSAPI), Computer Supported Telecommunications Application( CSTA) and others.
