BAP protocol layer (automotive) (BPL)

The operating and display protocol( BAP) is used for driver assistance. The protocol, which is divided into layers, provides the functions of the communication control layer with the BAP Protocol Layer ( BPL) and thus corresponds to layer 5 in the OSI reference model. Communication takes place between the BPL layer and the BAP Application Layer( BAL) above it, with the BPL layer providing the BAL layer with various services for data transmission and administration.

The BPL layer monitors the BAP communication between the display and function control devices with a heartbeat.
