BAP application layer (automotive) (BAL)

The operating and display protocol( BAP) is a protocol that supports driver assistance in motor vehicles. It is divided into functional layers.

The BAP Application Layer (BAL) of the BAP protocol establishes the function-specific adaptations to the respective application. The BAL layer implements the programming interface( API) via which all operating and display information of the ECUs is accessed. The BAL layer is responsible for the processing and data storage of the application data. Communication between the BAL layers takes place in a peer-to-peer network.
