personal navigator assistent (PDA) (PNA)

A Personal Navigator Assistant (PNA) is nothing more than an easy-to-use Personal Digital Assistant(PDA) with limited navigation-related functions that forgo the standard organizer functions of PDAs. Such PNAs are of special interest for navigation of road users, but also for purely private applications.

The navigation of PNAs is based on the GPS system with the support of map material already installed during production. However, the map material can also be supplied on memory cards and read into the PNA. The updating of the maps can be done via a download.

There are also PNAs that indicate current traffic situations, traffic jams or road works. These PNAs obtain their information via radio text( RDS) or digital traffic radio( TMC) and process the information directly for route planning.
