Passive Keyless Go (PKG) is an electronic starting technology with which motor vehicles can be started with a start button.
In order to be able to start a motor vehicle with a start button, it must be ensured that the car key
is in the car.The PKG method measures the Received Signal Strength (RSS) and determines whether the radio-controlled car key is inside - for example in a jacket pocket - or outside the motor vehicle. When the start button is pressed, an authentication procedure is started to check the key ID. This procedure
takes a few milliseconds. Only then is the engine started. If the car key is outside the vehicle, no start is possible. Passive Keyless Go (PKG) is often used together with Passive Keyless Entry (PKE).
