low frequency (LF)
The low frequency( LF) range is the frequency range between 30 kHz to 300 kHz with wavelengths between 10 km and 1 km. Long wave is transmitted in the low frequency range.
For this frequency range, the International Telecommunication Union( ITU) uses the band designation 5. The band number (N) and the frequency range have a direct mathematical relationship of 0.3 x 10expN to 3 x 10expN. The expN of band number 5 is 100,000, multiplied by 0.3 results in a lower frequency of 30 kHz.
