automatic content enhancement (HDMI) (ACE)

The brightness, color and contrast settings of televisions are mostly optimized for the display of movies. However, since the content played differs from studio recordings, reports, computer games, photos or films, corresponding setting changes would be necessary to optimally adapt the display. However, this is usually not done.

With Automatic Content Enhancement ( ACE), an automatic adjustment function of High Definition Multimedia Interface( HDMI), the setting parameters are supposed to be automatically adapted to the picture content. With the ACE process, the playback station signals to the display what type of content it is. TV displays equipped with the ACE function automatically adjust their color profile to the content being played.
