A picture, Picture, is a visual representation in which the events - people, animals, light impressions and other moods - of a moment are captured. Such a picture can be a photograph or a graphic, created manually or electronically, which can be displayed and stored in electronic form.

Electronic graphics can be displayed as raster graphics or vector graphics. Various file formats are available for storage. In order to reduce the data volume of high- resolution photos, there are various image compression methods that can be used to reduce the data volume to one tenth or more.

Photos and graphics that are based on raw data and are not compressed use the RAW format. All other image file formats use a compression method. This can be lossless or lossy image compression. One of the best known methods is JPEG.
