VMEbus international trade association (VITA)

The VMEbus International Trade Association (VITA) is a body that promotes the development and marketing of the VME bus, develops standards and contributes these to the standardization bodies of IEEE and the International Electrotechnical Commission( IEC). VITA pays particular attention to compatibility between legacy and enhanced VME versions and boards.

Within VITA, the VITA Standards Organization(VSO) is an ANSI-accredited organization that develops standards for future systems. These include VITA 46, the standard for VPX modules, and VITA 48, the standard for Ruggedized Enhanced Design Implementation( REDI).
