ruggedized enhanced design implementation (VITA) (REDI)

Ruggedized Enhanced Design Implementation (REDI), specified by the VITA Standards Organization(VSO) under VITA 48, is of particular interest for military applications.

REDI describes the mechanics, electronics and fluid power for modular cooling technologies. This includes compatible boards for air and liquid cooling, as well as for thermal conduction with larger and more efficient thermal dissipation. The standard specifically addresses the requirements for VPX modules.

In addition, the REDI standard deals with electrostatic discharge( ESD) of the boards.
