video programming by text (Videorecorder) (VPT)

In contrast to the VPS system, Video Programming System (VPS), the VPT system, Video Programming by Text (VPT), works with text programming, more precisely with teletext.

In the VPT method, the user marks the TV program he wants to record in the program directory from the teletext. The video recorder receives its information from the teletext page and triggers the recording function of the video recorder at the exact time.

With digital TV, this recording function is taken over by the electronic program guide( EPG).
