radio subsystem (mobile communications) (RSS)

A GSM network consists of three subsystems: the base station subsystem( BSS), formerly known as the radio subsystem( RSS), the network subsystem( NSS), also known as the switching subsystem ( SSS), and the operation and maintenance subsystem( OMS).

The Base Station Subsystem or Radio Subsystem is responsible for radio-related matters and consists of the base station with controller and transmitting and receiving equipment and the mobile station, i.e., the cell phone or cell phone.

The radio base station system is made up of several radio cells, the transmission power of which is controlled by the BTS station and the roaming, i.e. the forwarding of calls to the next radio cell. The BSC station forms the radio channel switching within the base subsystem (BSS) and is also responsible for BTS control.
