peak envelope power (PEP)

The RF peak power occurs as Peak EnvelopePower (PEP) only in transmitter technology. It is the output power of the modulated transmit signal that can be measured directly at the transmitter output.

Peak power of an RF period, peak envelope power (PEP)

Peak power of an RF period, peak envelope power (PEP)

Depending on the cable attenuation and the efficiency of the antenna, this power is converted into radiated power (ERP).

The peak RF power is the rms value of the power of the largest period of an RF oscillation. It depends on the modulation technique and is specified in dBm for single sideband mod ulation or for the carrier power and modulation technique.
