interface for distributed automation (IDA)

Interface for Distributed Automation(IDA) is an interest group with the goal of developing an interface for distributed automation based on Ethernet and TCP/ IP.

The IDA group cooperates with the Open DeviceNet Vendor Association( ODVA) and develops open standards with which different Ethernet variants can be operated in real-time Ethernet on a network. Since many IDA activities concern Modbus, the IDA Group was renamed Modbus-IDA in 2003.

Members of this interest group include Jetter AG, Lenze, Phoenix Contact, Real Time Innovations, Sick and Turck.
