access governance (AG)

Access governance (AG) can be translated as access control. It is a security management task that reduces risks and dangers emanating from employees. Corresponding risks can arise, for example, from unnecessary access privileges of the user.

In addition to reducing threats, access governance also regulates the status of access rights and the improvement of access policies, including recertification. Access governance assigns rights to individual employees, specifying which data and programs each employee is permitted to access. As part of compliance, risk management must be designed and roles and functions must be aligned with legal requirements.

Access governance software can help monitor access, review change requests, enforce Role-Based Access Control( RBAC) or Attribute-Based Access Control ( ABAC), and simplify reporting.
