ingress
- Ingress means access. In frame relay, ingress refers to access to a frame relay network where data packets are transmitted from a destination station to the frame relay network.
- Ingress LabelEdgeRouter( LER) is the first router in MPLS networks. The LER router uses ingress filtering to classify all IP packets at the entrance to the MPLS network and applies a label to them. In this process, all packets arriving on an interface that does not match the sender address are discarded. The path between the ingress LER and the egress LER is called the Label Switched Path( LSP).
