guaranteed frame rate (GFR)

The Guaranteed Frame Rate (GFR) is a specification developed by the ATM Forum with which TCP/ IP traffic can be transmitted with a guaranteed frame rate. Due to this specification, traffic contracts for TCP/IP can be negotiated on the AAL layer in ATM networks.
