Electronic Image Stabilization(EIS) is a technique used to reduce image blur in digital cameras and video cameras. This electronic technique is used for image stabilization of video cameras and telescopic shots.

Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) corrects the camera shake that normally occurs with each frame of a video sequence, or with still shots. Camera shake is particularly noticeable in long exposure shots and when shooting with telephoto lenses with a long focal length. In astronomical photography, it is manifested by the constant change of object positions.

If the EIS circuit detects camera shake, it reacts by shifting the image slightly so that it exposes the same spot on the CCD sensor. Electronic image stabilization can result in a reduction in image resolution.

In addition to electronic image stabilization, there is also optical image stabilization, Optical Image Stabilization( OIS), which works with gyro sensors.
