boundary network node (BNN)

The Boundary Network Node (BNN), which is also called Border Node (BN), is a subarea node in SNA architectures. The BNN node belongs to a specific peer group and has at least one link that crosses the boundary of the peer group.

Border Nodes support sequencing, address transformation, forwarding and other functions for the neighboring peripheral nodes.
