basic telecommunications access method (BTAM)

TheBasicTelecommunications Access Method (BTAM) was one of the first host-resident control programs for IBM System/360. BTAM supported sending and receiving data

over data lines and was used to manage remote communications interfaces for host applications. Later, IBM specified higher level interfaces for the SNA architecture in place of BTAM with QTAM and VTAM.
