queued telecommunication access method (IBM) (QTAM)

Queued Teleprocessing Access Method (QTAM) is an improved transmission method from IBM compared to the Basic Telecommunications Access Method( BTAM), which works with queuing and constantly caches the data. QTAM is specified as a higher level interface for the SNA architecture. It was primarily used with System/360 to transfer data for batch processing.
