PC card phone

A PC card phone is a credit card-sized plug-in card for a laptop that combines the functions of the cell phone and the modem. Such a card is ideal if you use the mobile workstation, i.e. the laptop, primarily for data communication. Voice communication is possible via the laptop microphone and the built-in speaker.

There are also mobile workstations that consist only of a laptop. Such a workstation uses the laptop microphone and the loudspeaker for voice communication. The cell phone and modem functions are handled by a credit card-sized plug-in card, a PC card phone. Since such a PC-Card-Phone combines both functions, neither a cell phone nor a modem is needed.

The software supplied allows data and faxes to be sent and received. But telephoning has also been taken into account: direct voice communication is possible via the laptop microphone and the loudspeaker. This is an interesting solution, especially for users who exchange a lot of data and only make phone calls occasionally.
