IEEE 802.3 40GBase-FR

40GBase-FR is an Ethernet interface for 40 Gigabit Ethernet standardized by the IEEE project group802.3bg. It operates with a 1,550 nm single mode fiber and can receive wavelengths of 1,550 nm and 1,310 nm. The bridgeable distance is 2 km. The wavelength of 1,550 nm ensures compatibility with existing test facilities and network infrastructures.
