universal access method (UAM)

Universal Access Method (UAM) is an access method for WLANs according to 802.11. Here, the user first calls up his Internet browser and must then authenticate himself on a login page with user name and password before he is granted access to the network. The Universal Access Method uses the client-server based security protocol RADIUS for authentication.
