Time Slot Interchange (TSI) is a switching technique in which the channels ofPCM technology are offset in time between the input and output data streams transmitted in time division multiplexing. In this technique, the input data stream, usually a Digital Signal DS-1, is buffered and concatenated with multiple DS-0 signals. This technique is mainly used in large switching systems in conjunction with the Temporary Mobile Station (TMS).
