test TCP (TTCP)

TestTCP (TTCP) is a program to test the throughput of the UDP protocol and TCP protocol with a benchmark.

Test TCP was developed for the Berkeley operating system( BSD). The original version and the source codes are available as public domain.

The TTCP program tests the performance of the TCP protocol with the data throughput. The benchmark is done between the storage units of the two end users. It is also used as a tool for bootstrappinghosts between two computers connected over a network. On the Internet, the TTCP program is used to determine the performance limits of transmission links.
