speech services control (speechSC)

Speech Services Control (SpeechSC) is a working group set up by the Internet Engineering Task Force( IETF) to deal with unified communications.

The goal of these activities is the development of specifications with which any speech application can be controlled network-wide. These activities are intended to support intelligent services with which, for example, e-mails or instant messaging are sent as voice messages over networks.

The standard developed by SpeechSC works with the MRCP protocol, which can be used to control media resources such as systems for speech synthesis or speech recognition in the network. The framework for SpeechSC with Automatic Speech Recognition( ASR), Speaker Identification/Speaker Verification( SI/SV) and Text-to-Speech( TTS) are described in RFC 4313.
