parallelity

In general, parallelism is the simultaneous execution of programs or transfers.

In the case of program executions, parallelism can refer to the computer architecture, but it can equally refer to the parallel execution of programs. Therefore, a distinction is made between hardware-based parallelism, such as that implemented in RISC architecture, parallel execution of instructions, such as that implemented in superscalar computer architectures, and process parallelism, such as that implemented by parallel computers with MIMD architecture, Multiple Instruction Multiple Data (MIMD).
