digital satellite radio (CATV) (DSR)
Digital Satellite Radio(DSR) is a satellite-based audio transmission technology in which signals are sampled at 32 kHz and quantized at 16 bits.
The resulting data rate is 1.024 Mbit/s, and the audio quality is comparable to CD quality. Digital Satellite Radio (DSR) included a program lineup of 16 different channels. Since it operated without data compression and therefore required a relatively large bandwidth and was also not accepted to the desired extent, it was discontinued in 1999 and replaced by Astra Digital Radio( ADR) and Digital VideoBroadcasting( DVB).
