Default values are the most common values, which are given by the system as setting values and which are accepted by most users without change. Often the system lets confirm the default values by means of a dialog. The user can easily deviate from the default values and enter his own parameters.
Defaults also affect program settings that can be overridden by entering other values. The same applies to peripheral devices connected to a personal computer. For this, some programs have preset values for the printer. The printer settings are then valid until the user specifies another, currently used printer type.
