Application virtualization aims to efficiently supply the client with application programs. The application programs are no longer permanently installed on the clients, but are configured and managed centrally and loaded onto the local clients as required. Central administration makes it much easier to update the application programs with updates and new versions.

The client who wants to run an application only needs to click on the application icon that appears on his display and identifies him as an authorized user. The applications are thus made available to the client who wants to run them without prior installation.

The advantages of application virtualization are that the application programs are always updated, and all the necessary information is stored in a centrally managed file. In this concept, the applications are isolated from each other and from the operating system, so it is possible to run different versions of the same software or to assign different applications to different users. Application virtualization ensures that the applications are operated without conflicts.
