VoIP private branch exchange (VoIP-PBX)
VoIP Private Branch Exchanges (VoIP- PBX), also referred to as IP-PBX or IPPBX, are private IP PB Xs in which the voice data of Internet telephony (VoIP) is switched to VoIP telephones. The voice data is routed via a VoIP adapter to the phones, to softphones or to external networks.
IP PBXs connect VoIP phones to packet-switched IP networks. They can also switch calls between VoIP phones and subscribers with analog phones. Like normal PBXs, IP PBXs support a wide range of services and are characterized by a high level of functionality.
The advantage of IP-based PBXs is that they transmit various services over one linedata and voice, and Internet access is also handled over it.
