Twitter is a service for short messages about which groups of people are informed with short messages, the tweets. Registered Twitter users can subscribe to posts from other Twitter participants.
Twitter subscribers are called followers because they follow a particular hashtag and are interested in the topic or person. User profiles or locations can also be referenced in the tweet. For this purpose, each tweet contains a follow registration field.
Tweets are short messages with a maximum length of 140 alphanumeric characters. The actual topic can be inserted into a hashtag as meta information.
Additional information such as Internet addresses can be inserted as a short URL to save characters. In addition, there is a forwarding function, retweeting. Using this function, the tweet recipient can forward the tweet to his own followers.
