TCP and UDP over Lightweight IP (TULIP) is a protocol

describedin RFC 1932 from 1996 with which TCP and UDP applications can be transmitted over ATM

. In the lightweight version, the IP header is omitted. Instead, the ATM Adaption Layer (AAL 5) is used after the connection is established.
