NetWare core protocol (Novell) (NCP)
NetWare Core Protocol ( NCP) is a NetWare-specific protocol for communication in client- server architectures. NCP frames are sent using the Internetwork Packet Exchange Protocol( IPX).
The NCP protocol is used for communication between client and server and is the actual communication protocol for the use of resources such as printers or memory as well as for the NetWare Directory Service( NDS).
NCP frames are transmitted in IPX data packets, Internetwork Packet Exchange protocol (IPX), and acknowledged by the server.
