IEEE 802.3 1000Base-PX

1000Base-PX is a GbE interface that works with single mode fibers. Data rates of 1 Gbit/s can be transmitted via the 1000Base-PX interface.

Bidirectional transmission takes place at two wavelengths, namely 1,310 nm and 1,490 nm. 1000Base-PX is available in several variants: 1000Base-PX10 for distances up to 10 km, 1000Base-PX20 for 20 km, 1000Base-PX30 and 1000Base-PX40.

1000Base-PX is a SFP module that uses the LC connector as its connector. SFP modules are available in several variants with different wavelengths and power levels. 1000Base-PX is used in Ethernet in the First Mile( EFM), namely in Ethernet Passive Optical Network( EPON), which supports point-to-multipoint connections.
