DTAUS format

For cashless data medium exchange(DTA), the Central Credit Committee(ZKA) has defined the DTAUS format as a uniform data exchange format for electronic payment transactions, i.e. for credit transfers, standing orders or direct debits.

DTAUS files consist of three individual data records, which form the header, the body and the trailer ( footer). The header and the trailer each consist of 128 bytes, the body, which occurs once per payment transaction, comprises 256 characters. The header is formed by data set A and includes the transaction between the customer and the bank and the name of the ordering party as well as its bank code and account number. The body, formed by record C, is about the actual type of transaction, whether it is a wire transfer, direct debit, credit memo, etc. And the trailer, formed by data set E, is about control totals and plausibilities.
