4040

Intel's 4040 microprocessor is a more powerful version of the 4004, which had a more extensive instruction set with 60 instructions than the 4004, and also had larger stack memories and improved interrupt support. In terms of structure and design, both processors are 4-bit processors with 12-bit memory addressing.

The clock speed, integration density and structure width were the same as those of the 4004, as was the CPU socket, the Dual Inline Package( DIP) with 16 pins.
