Der intelligente optische Abschluss (IOT) bildet den Abschlusspunkt für das passive optische Netzwerk (PON) und gleichzeitig den Zugangspunkt für die Anwender. An die IOTs können E1-Multiplexer, PBX-Router oder LAN-Switches angeschlossen werden.
