Text ads are text-based advertisements. They are highly efficient and cost-effective. Like other forms of advertising, text ads lead the viewer to the relevant information via hyperlinks.
Text ads can be classified ads with a text link, but they can also have other advertising formats and be placed on web pages as content banners, for example. A well-known form of text ads are Google's AdWords.
As with other advertising formats, the advertising-relevant parameters of text ads such as ad clicks, ad impressions or ad views are transmitted via click tags and evaluated by an ad server. Depending on the size of the text ads, they can be designed with typographic and informative highlights to achieve a high level of attention.
