Lead (Bp from plumbum) is a chemical element that has atomic number 82 on the periodic table of elements. It is an easily malleable heavy metal with a low melting point. In electronics, lead is mainly used in rechargeable batteries, such as the lead-acid batteries used in motor vehicles as car batteries and as lead-fleece batteries.
