State-of-Health (SoH) is a characteristic value of rechargeable batteries. The SoH value identifies the condition of the battery and characterizes its ability to meet the specified specifications compared to a new battery.

The SoH characteristic value depends on and is influenced by the state of charge( SoC). On the other hand, the state of charge also depends on the SoH value. Both values arechecked and evaluated by the battery management system. The SoH value indicates the available battery power and thus the current that can be drawn. It is also used to determine the remaining service life and is displayed in the charge status display of Smart Batteries.
