In image processing, specular highlights are reflective highlights. The technique of specular highlights is used in 3D graphics to direct the viewer's attention to a specific image detail and thereby emphasize scenic# details or object shapes.
Such specular highlights increase attention, enhance realistic 3D rendering, and lead the viewer to the desired illuminated object detail, such as a painted car body. The Specular Highlight technique is supported by most graphics programs.
Specular Highlights depend on the surface material and its light reflection, scattering and refraction. Depending on the surface properties, the simulated specular highlight is more punctiform or broader and more pointed or diffuse in its reflection behavior. In addition to the specular highlight, there is also the diffuse light reflection, the diffused highlight.
