source routing transparent (Internetworking) (SRT)

Source Routing Transparent (SRT) is a bridging method developed by IBM that combines two different methods, Source Routing Bridging( SRB) and Transparent Bridging with Spanning Tree. SRT routing is an IEEE specification and is suitable for Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI. However, communication between Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI bridges is excluded because the SRT method cannot translate the different data packets. No translation takes place between the bridging protocols.
