parallel line Internet procotol (PLIP)

The Parallel LineInternet Protocol (PLIP or PL/ IP) is a network protocol that supports direct communication between two computers via the standard parallel port ( SPP) of the Centronics interface. The PLIP protocol allows computers with Centronics interface that do not have network hardware to communicate with each other. The protocol provides services on the link layer of the IP protocol and can thus establish small or larger local networks.
