object file (OBJ)

Obj stands for object and is a file format developed by Wavefront Tech. for describing geometric objects.

The Obj file format is used in animation programs and 3D printing technology, and also serves as an exchange format for geometric models. In Obj files, models are described in a text-based manner, supporting both polygonal and completely free-form curves and surfaces. The file description includes the corner and vertex points of straight and curved lines as well as polygons and the coordinates of textures.

The coordinates of object files are dimensionless, the scaling information is shown in a command line.
