multilayer power inductance (MPI)

Multilayer inductors are coils with a multilayer structure consisting of several printed layers. They can be manufactured in printed electronics and differ in the printing processes and the ferrite used.

Multilayer inductors are already available for high- power applications as multilayer power inductors( MPI). These components are used in DC/DC converters, PoL (point of load) converters and voltage regulators.

Multilayer power inductors are available for current loads of several amperes and with inductance values of ten or more micro-Henries (µH). Their characteristic values are thus quite comparable with wirewound inductors.
